Hello

An astrologer usually answers queries from many different fields, medicine, agriculture, commerce, household and so on. He has only twelve planets, floating in zodiac and moving through twelve houses, to help him. Obviously, the journey of an astrologer after casting the horoscope till the query is answered, can be compared to that of a detective solving a case. Sometimes the accuracy of his own prediction astonishes the astrologer and sometime a failed prediction shakes his faith. So, an astrologer has very interesting stories to tell. We will have such stories on this blog, but I am more interested in the examining the scientific basis of astrology.

When the opportunity presents itself, I experiment to examine the truth behind various rules in the system of astrology. Hence the name of blog, "Experimenting with Luminaries". I will be happy if this blog turns out to be a platform for such discussions. Everybody with intention to experiment is welcome here.

I am expecting the blog to bilingual, with posts both in English and मराठी, so that more people can read it.

प्रयोजन

ज्योतिषाकडे सल्ला मागायला येणाऱ्यांत अनेक क्षेत्रांतले, वेगवेगळ्या वयाचे लोक असतात. त्यांच्या समस्यांचे विषयही अनेकविध, अगदी लग्न किंवा मूल कधी होईल पासून ते बाजारात अडकलेला शेंगदाणा कधी विकला जाईल इथपर्यंत. ह्या अनेकविध विषयांवरच्या प्रश्नांना उत्तरं द्यायला ज्योतिषाला मदत करतात ते फक्त बारा ग्रह, बारा राशी आणि बारा घरं. पत्रिका मांडल्यापासून ती सोडवून उत्तरं शोधण्यापर्यंतचा प्रवास एखादं अवघड प्रमेय सोडवण्याइतकाच रंजक आणि कधी कधी बुद्धीला ताण देणारा असतो. दिलेल्या उत्तरांची‌ अचूकता कधी कधी ज्योतिषालाही‌ चकित करते आणि जेव्हा उत्तरं पूर्ण चुकतात तेव्हा ज्योतिषी‌ तितकाच गोंधळूनही जातो. त्यामुळे ज्योतिषाच्या कथा युद्धाच्या कथांप्रमाणेच रम्य असतात. अशा कथा या ब्लॉगवर आपण पाहूच पण त्याहूनही जास्त मला ज्योतिषाच्या वैज्ञानिक मांडणीत जास्त रस आहे.

ज्योतिषासंबंधी वेगवेगळे प्रयोग करून वेगवेगळ्या पुस्तकात दिलेल्या नियमांची सत्यता पडताळणे हा माझा छंद आहे. अशा प्रयोगांविषयी लेख ह्या ब्लॉगमध्ये वाचाल. किंबहुना, त्यामुळेच या ब्लॉगचे नाव "ज्योतींची प्रयोगशाळा" असे ठेवले आहे. ह्या ब्लॉगद्वारे अशा प्रयोगांना आणि त्यासंबंधीच्या चर्चेला व्यासपीठ मिळाले तर उत्तमच. अशा प्रकारचे प्रयोग करणाऱ्यांचं‌ इथे स्वागत आहे. या ब्लॉगच्या माध्यमातून आपले प्रयोग मांडायचे असतील तर मला जरूर कळवा.
